ANALISIS KESILAPAN DALAM PEMBELAJARAN PENGAMIRAN (Analysis of Errors in the Learning of Integration)

Abstract


ABSTRAK

Tujuan kajian ini adalah untuk menentukan jenis kesilapan pelajar dalam menyelesaikan masalah luas di bawah sesuatu lengkung, jenis kesilapan dalam luas antara satu lengkung dengan satu garis lurus, jenis kesilapan dalam isipadu janaan apabila satu lengkung dikisarkan pada paksi-x, jenis kesilapan dalam isipadu janaan apabila satu lengkung dikisarkan pada paksi-y. Kajian ini melibatkan 94 orang pelajar Tingkatan 5 di sebuah Sekolah Menengah di Selangor. Alat kajian yang digunakan adalah dari satu set soalan ujian pengamiran untuk mengenalpasti kesilapan yang dilakukan oleh pelajar dalam menyelesaikan masalah dalam topik ini. Langkah kerja salah pertama (The first breakdown point) dilakukan oleh responden dalam penyelesaiannya dinilai untuk ditentukan jenis kesilapan. Kesilapan yang dilakukan oleh responden dalam penyelesaiannya dinilai dan di klasifikasi berdasarkan Panduan Klasifikasi Jenis Kesilapan daripada Model Hierarki Kesilapan Newman iaitu membaca, kefahaman, tranformasi, kemahiran proses, pengkodan, kecuaian dan motivasi. Jenis kesilapan bagi setiap item dianalisis secara frekuensi dan peratusan menggunakan pakej SPSS. Dapatan kajian menunjukkan dalam pembelajaran pengamiran pelajar banyak melakukan kesilapan dalam peringkat transformasi dan kemahiran proses. Selain itu, terdapat sebilangan kecil pelajar yang melakukan kesilapan jenis kefahaman, pengkodan, motivasi dan kecuaian. Penganalisisan jenis kesilapan yang dilakukan oleh pelajar dalam menyelesaikan masalah matematik ini dapat memberikan maklumat kepada guru tentang kelemahan dan tahap kefahaman pelajar dalam sesuatu topik, terutama topik yang sukar dan berusaha untuk mencari jalan penyelesaiannya.

ABSTRACT

The purpose of this study was to determine the type of errors made in solving problem related to area under a curve, area under a curve and a straight line, volume produced when rotated along the x-axis and the volume produced when rotated along the y-axis. The study was conducted on 94 form five students of a secondary school in Selangor. The instrument used in this study was a set of questions on integration. To identify the errors made in solving the problem, the first breakdown point carried out by the respondent in solving the problem would be evaluated and the error would be classified based on Newman error’s Model, which were reading, understanding, transformation, process skills, encoding, carelessness and motivation. The types of error for every single item were analyzed by frequency and percentages using SPSS. The results showed that in the learning of integration, students made many errors in transformation and process skills. Apart from that, a small number of students also made error in understanding, encoding, motivation and carelessness. The analysis of the type of errors made by the students in trying to solve integration problem could provide information to the teachers concerning student weaknesses and the level of understanding students had in a particular topic, especially on difficult topic.
